the sabbatical logs

​I returned from Rome at the end of this week and spent a couple days away from the interviews, away from the project and spent some time with family.  Being with those I love.

Anna.  89 years old.  Born in Bagheria, Italy.  Currently lives in Bagheria, Italy.
 
This week I also interviewed my great aunt Anna, my grandmother’s 89 years old sister.  This is our 2nd interview.  Again, I asked about that date, July 7 1943.  Again I heard her version of that tragic day and again it moved me.  This time, more detail was added, more connection was made and its impact was just as powerful as the first time I interviewed her.
